History

Israel Aircraft Industries built the G200, and it joined the Gulfstream line in 2001, sold under the Gulfstream name. The aim was midsize performance backed by Gulfstream's standards of build quality and support. Over its production run the aircraft gained a redesigned interior, a soundproofing package and a weight-reduction programme, changes that improved both comfort and performance.

With transcontinental range, the G200 filled the gap in Gulfstream's line-up between its smaller and larger cabin aircraft. Production ended on 19 December 2011 after 250 had been built, closing a programme that showed Gulfstream could work with an international manufacturing partner without lowering its standards.

FAQ

Does the G200 fly further than the Citation X?

Yes. The G200 is rated for 3,312 nautical miles (6,134 km), against 5,765 km for the Citation X, a margin of about 370 km. Both can fly Geneva to Dubai without a stop, and the G200 has the larger cabin of the two.

How many passengers does the G200 carry?

Standard layouts seat 8 to 10, and a high-density layout takes 11. The cabin is 7.47 metres long, 2.19 metres wide and 1.91 metres high, comparable to the larger Challenger 300. Baggage space holds about 8 suitcases and 6 carry-on bags.

How fast does the G200 cruise?

Cruise speed is 470 knots (870 km/h), competitive for a super midsize jet, with a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.85. That pace suits time-sensitive business trips across Europe and on transcontinental routes. The service ceiling is 45,000 feet.

What is the G200's range?

With IFR reserves the G200 covers 3,312 nautical miles (6,134 km), which brings London to Dubai within a single flight. That puts it ahead of many aircraft in its class for intercontinental trips without a fuel stop. Our advisors confirm routing and payload with the operator for longer sectors.

How does the G200 cabin compare with other super midsize jets?

It matches the cabin dimensions of the Challenger 300 while cruising at 470 knots, so passengers do not give up speed for space. The interior is noticeably larger than smaller jets such as the Citation X or Falcon 50EX, and the G200 also has more range than either.
