History
The Hawker 1000 is the largest aircraft in the Hawker 800 family. Hawker designed it to give operators the biggest possible cabin while keeping the systems that had already proved themselves on the 800 series. The fuselage was stretched to take more passengers and baggage, and more powerful Pratt & Whitney Canada PW305B engines replaced the earlier powerplants. The 1000 name marked it as the head of the Hawker range.
Production ran from 1991 to 1997. Corporate flight departments gained a larger cabin and transcontinental range, while running costs and reliability stayed close to those of the Hawker 800. The Hawker 1000 showed how far the company could scale an existing design to meet different customer needs.

FAQ
How many passengers does the Hawker 1000 carry?
A standard executive layout seats eight, and the aircraft is certified for up to 15 depending on the interior. There is space for about 10 suitcases and 9 pieces of hand luggage, with 2.04 m³ of baggage volume. The cabin is 7.44 m long, so there is room to work or rest on longer flights.
Why is the Hawker 1000 considered the top model in the 800 family?
It is the largest variant and has the biggest cabin, yet it uses the same proven operating systems as the rest of the 800 series. Its stretched fuselage, more powerful engines and extra fuel give it more transcontinental reach than its smaller relatives, while keeping the reliability and running costs that the Hawker 800 family is known for.
What range does the Hawker 1000 have without refuelling?
Its range with IFR reserves is 3,098 nm (5,737 km), and its ferry range extends to 3,530 nm (6,537 km). That allows direct flights such as Los Angeles to New York or Paris to Dubai. The fuel capacity and economical engines give operators plenty of flexibility on transcontinental business trips.
Is the Hawker 4000 worth choosing over the Hawker 1000?
The 4000 is faster, cruising at 470 knots against the 1000's 453. Their ranges are almost identical, at 5,741 km for the 4000 and 5,737 km for the 1000. The Hawker 1000 is usually the more economical charter in the super midsize class, so it is a sensible choice when the extra speed of the 4000 is not essential.
What cruise speed should I expect from a Hawker 1000?
It cruises at 453 knots (839 km/h), which compares well with other super midsize jets. Its two Pratt & Whitney Canada engines deliver steady thrust across the flight envelope, and the aircraft can climb to 43,000 ft. That makes it effective for time-sensitive business trips over medium and long distances.
