History

The Hawker 900XP was the final development of the Hawker 800 series, built from 2008 to 2013. Hawker aimed it at the space between the mid-size 800 models and larger business jets, giving operators more cabin room and capability while keeping the proven systems and handling of the 800 platform.

The XP brought a set of performance upgrades, including Honeywell TFE731-50R engines and updated avionics, now the Collins Pro Line 21 suite. These gave the aircraft better climb performance and more operational flexibility than earlier models. Its range with IFR reserves is 2,818 nautical miles, and its service ceiling is 41,000 ft.

Hawker positioned the 900XP as a cost-effective route to a larger cabin, avoiding the complexity and running costs of a full large-cabin jet. The cabin is quieter than on earlier models, which makes a difference on longer sectors. It reflects how carefully the manufacturer balanced the space passengers want against what an operator pays to fly.

FAQ

Is the Hawker 900XP quicker than the 850XP?

No. Both cruise at 448 knots (830 km/h), so flight times are the same. The difference is distance: the 900XP is rated for 5,219 km against 4,893 km for the 850XP, roughly 330 km more, which can make the difference on a borderline route that would otherwise need a stop for fuel.

How many people does the Hawker 900XP seat?

The standard layout seats eight passengers, and alternative layouts take up to ten. The cabin is 6.5 m long and 1.83 m wide, with 1.75 m of headroom, which gives comfortable space for longer flights. Luggage capacity is around seven suitcases plus eight carry-on bags, enough for a business trip or a longer stay.

What is the Hawker 900XP's cruising speed?

It cruises at 448 knots (830 km/h), which places it among the quicker midsize jets, and its maximum operating speed is Mach 0.8. That pace suits business travel across continental distances, and the Honeywell TFE731-50R engines keep fuel economy reasonable for an aircraft of this size.

How far can the Hawker 900XP fly before refuelling?

With IFR reserves its range is 2,818 nautical miles (5,219 km). New York to Los Angeles and London to Riyadh are both within reach without a stop. The ferry range, flown with reduced payload, is 2,929 nautical miles, which is useful for positioning flights and for longer trips with fewer passengers.

What changed in the 900XP, the last of the Hawker 800 line?

Produced between 2008 and 2013, it drew on decades of experience with the 800 series. It gained improved engines and other performance upgrades, and its cabin is quieter than before. The aircraft sits between the midsize and super midsize categories while keeping the reliability and running costs that made the 800 family so widely used.
